Sometimes the muse is simple and requires thoughtful pursuit.

Sometimes it pulls you to a favorite place.

 

 Sometimes it makes you look at the beauty nature has endowed the earth with.

And then it makes you try to create a reminder of these places.

These colors remind me of the West with it's clear blue skies and lakes

and the multi-hued mountains and canyons

A bit different. 

I was trying for a rustic beach look.

I think I'm getting there.

New "Rustic" series beads listed today. These are made on a base of black with a variety of hand blended frits.

I wanted to try gray transparent glass and added a celadon and dark blue/green transparent frit.

I  am vowing to tackle the box of shorts (glass rods that get too short to hold in the flame) I have. Many of them came to me from another lampworker that used a brilliant green I shall call "lime" until I know better.

And yes, I am still on the square kick. Tomorrow I shall make just beads from my "Rustic" series.

I thought I'd take one day a week and show some of the beautiful local views. This is downtown historic Genoa, NV. The Sierra Nevada mountains tower above the town.

Purple a bit toned down.

I am pleased with the color combo from Sunday's session but now I can't find any more of the Sunshine Yellow from this batch! It's an Odd and no one has it for sale.

Someone had me make squares and now I can't stop!
